This month we salute Morghan Williams
Morghan Williams, originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, holds a bachelor’s of Science in Psychology with a minor in Business and an Individualized study, Master’s Arts in Communication, Higher education and Non-profit Management, both from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently the Interim Director of The Young People’s Project- Michigan (TYPP.org), a non-profit organization that uses Math Literacy Work to develop the abilities of elementary through high school students to succeed in school and in life, and in doing so involves them in efforts to
eliminate institutional obstacles to their success. YPP is currently in 3 school districts, Ypsilanti Schools, Willow Run Schools, and Wayne/ Wayne Memorial Schools. In her spare time, Morghan also volunteers her time with the Neutral Zone Ann Arbor, a youth-driven teen center, facilitating a program on Girls Leadership and empowerment.
Morghan’s future goals are to one day have YPP sites in all Detroit Public schools, to help the students gain a voice and demand a quality education for themselves and those who follow. Morghan was also recently a featured speaker for the Eastern Michigan University Center for Multicultural Affairs Black History Month program "What My Eastern Degree Means to Me".
