Carrie J. Clark- Servant Leader
Carrie J. Clark is a proud Silver Star, Life Member, with 31 years of committed service to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. Initiated in 1987 into the sorority’s Xi Chapter at Eastern Michigan University, Carrie transitioned into Lambda Pi Omega Chapter upon graduation from college. Since then, she has worked tirelessly on behalf of Alpha Kappa Alpha and the community. Becoming an experienced leader both within and outside of the sorority, Carrie has embraced the sorority’s mission to be of “service to all mankind”.
In her Detroit AKA chapter, Carrie has served as President, Vice President, and in other leadership roles. Regionally, she has served as the 2003 Michigan Cluster Chairman and the 2012 General Chairman of the 81st Great Lakes Regional Conference. Internationally, Carrie has served on the Heritage and Membership Committees, and on the Undergraduate Transition Taskforce.
Professionally, Carrie is the Director of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. Previously, Carrie held key leadership positions as Quality Assurance Manager, Director of Resource Development and the Enterprise Project Office. In addition, she has served as an Adjunct Professor at local universities since 1995, instructing in the areas of Information Technology and Project Management. Carrie’s leadership and engagement has earned her several honors, including the Michigan Chronicle’s DRIVEN and Women of Excellence Awards, and the PMO of the Year Finalist Award.
Carrie holds a BA and MSA degree, and is currently pursuing a MS in Health Administration. She is a Certified Project Manager (CPM), and has earned Scrum Master Certification from George Washington University.
Carrie is an active member of Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit, and has served her community through a multitude of organizations, including the American Heart Association, Jack and Jill of America and the Youth Development Commission.
Carrie is blessed and thankful to have the support of her beautiful family -- her husband of 23 years, Mark, and their sons Ian and Noah. Ian is a senior at Michigan State University, and Noah is a sophomore at the University of Toledo. Mark and Ian are active members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Carrie is a hard worker, proven leader and believes in rising up to the challenge to carry on the legacy, hopes and dreams of those sheroes who have paved the way for her and future generations.
