EMU Memory: Choosing to stay on campus for holidays with my friends in Best Hall freshman year, from Ohio who didn't have cars. I built solid relationships with them still standing 21 years later.

Kevin Davis serves as Senior Director of External Affairs for City Year Chicago, an $11 million education nonprofit with a mission to increase the on-time graduation rates of Chicago students while reducing the drop-out rate. In his current role, he oversees all marketing, communications, and community and educational partnerships for the Chicago. He has over 15 years of marketing and communications experience in the nonprofit and higher education experience, working for organizations including North Park University as Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, the University of Illinois at Chicago, as Marketing and Design Manager; winning the Earl Whitfield Marketing & Design excellence award. During his time in higher education, Kevin led many transformational projects and contributed to the rebranding of both universities. Kevin has also owned his own business, Kevin Davis Design + Brand, since 2005, servicing higher education institutions and nonprofits with marketing and communications.

Kevin has been committed to philanthropy and giving back which includes serving as marketing chair for the Lupus Foundation of America's Chicago walk to end lupus, where he was named 2015 top individual fundraiser, marketing chair of the 100 Black Men of Chicago, and serves as the International Director of Publicity and Branding for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., as a general board member, overseeing the marketing and branding efforts for over 600 chapters around the world. Kevin serves as a mentor and speaker on personal branding for the Daniel Murphy Scholars Fund, James Jordan Boys and Girls Club, Link Unlimited Scholars, and the Sigma Beta Club.

Kevin attended Eastern Michigan University and completed his undergraduate degree in marketing at Colorado State University. Kevin has remained involved with the EMU Black Alumni since 2005 and affiliated with the Eastern Michigan University Alumni Association of Chicago since 2014. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., 100 Black Men of Chicago, Public Relations Society of America, and the American Marketing Association. He is married to Ruth Davis, has two sons Kian and Kameron, and one daughter, Ava Sharon, and still resides in the city of Chicago.
